šļø Leading Off
I fixed it. I know yesterday I abstained from providing commentary on the Tour Championship format. Today (now) is a new day. I have a solution. The last three tournaments made for excellent television, because we could fixate on who was leading the tournament and who on the bubble would make the cut to play next week. The winner-take-all format of the Tour Championship entirely strips the second part of this equation. Why? At present, Scott Scheff is five shots back and very much in danger of losing the Fedex Cup. To be clear, somehow, Scottie Scheffler WILL NOT BE CROWNED THE CHAMPION OF THE PGA SEASON. Thatās crazy. He literally won last week. In a KMARK world, imagine watching Scottie grind his Sunday back nine, fighting for extra points, trying to seal his season long title even if he isnāt in contention to win. Thatās better. As such, unless he makes moves Saturday, we could watch Tommy Fleetwood and Bob McIntyre fight to be crowned Fedex Champ. Boo.
MLB Weekend Series that matter:
- Dodgers vs Padres
- Red Sox vs Yankees
Big heat in the MLB from Big Markets. Very cool.
š Hard In The Paint

(Kansas State)
Itās here. LIVE HITTING. Thatās right. College football is back with two ranked teams smackin each other around in Ireland. If you thought summer was still rolling, youāre wrong. Itās fall now. And Saturdayās are for major college football. Youāre welcome Dublin.
Thereās no angle from me. For now, flip the TV on, grab an iced coffee, and watch the following:
- Matt Campbell, Iowa State Head Coach. Campbs (?) has been a hot name for a few seasons on the coaching carousel. Heās the classic Offensive Wiz that bigger programs covet. Campbell lead the Cyclones to 11 wins including the Pop-Tart Bowl last year. RESUME BUILDER. Can he get the `Clones off to a fast start before bolting to Oklahoma?
- NFL Prospects: Austin Romaine ILB (KSU), Avery Johnson QB (KSU), Dominique Orange DL (ISU), Kooper Ebel LB (ISU)
Look at those names. Kooper Ebel. Get him in the fifth round and youāre special teams are set for a decade. Of the list (four dudes), Orange has the most pro potential. A disruptive interior presence with the size to make scouts drool. Keep your eyes peeled to his PUSH on third down.
Altogether, you can forget everything you just read. The uniforms tomorrow will be atrocious. The fans in Ireland will know no one on the field. The game is too early in the day. Put all that aside and enjoy the boys poppin pads. Go forth with your Saturday knowing you had your Football Fix. From now until February, football is here.

The Yankees had a deal with Basallo as an amateur before he was eligible to sign in January 2021.
Then, the Yankees signed Gerrit Cole as a free agent. That cost them $1M in international pool money for the 2021 class.
Basallo was cut loose and signed with Baltimore for $1.3M.
